Brooklyn Navy Yard (4)

During 165 years in business, the New York Naval Shipyard (a/k/a Brooklyn Navy Yard) built 93 ships. They ranged in size from the two gun schooner Pilot in 1836 to the 60,000 ton carrier Constellation in 1960. The yard was was known to be on the closing list when Michelson was overhauled there in the winter of 1963-64. Its demise came slowly, officially closing on June 25, 1966.
