Beginnings of Radar

Usually portrayed as a British invention, much of the early development of radar took place in the United States. This short article, from All Hands magazine, notes that the US Navy had, understandably, a lot to do with it. Computers and digital signal processing have transformed how information is displayed but the basic principles of radio detection and ranging (Radar) remain the same.
